Our six most recent story slam winners will be competing at Norma’s for a spot on the ARTICHOKE main stage. Our regular story slams will resume on Thursday, September 29.

Our FREE monthly Story Slam at Norma’s in Wappingers Falls is your path to stand in the spotlight. Here’s how it works:
Show up early and drop your name in the bag.
If your name’s pulled, you’ll have up to 6 minutes to tell a true, personal, and memorized story.
Tales are judged by a panel of seasoned ARTICHOKE performers, and the top scorer is crowned the night’s winner!
But wait, it gets better… Win a Story Slam and you earn a spot in our Big Story Showdown! The Showdown champ gets a coveted place in ARTICHOKE’s curated show.
Want to join in? Here’s what you need to know:
It’s YOUR story. First-person, real-life experiences only.
It’s TRUE. No fiction. Save the tall tales for the campfire.
It’s MEMORIZED. No notes, no phones, no cheat sheets.
It’s TIMED. Stay under 6 minutes, or lose .5 points every 30 seconds.
No REPEATS. Please tell a story the Slam audience has never heard before.
The coolest part? The show is FREE! All we ask is that you give some love to our awesome hosts at Norma’s by enjoying plenty of their delicious food and drinks.
