Before the pandemic reduced him to a large collection of high definition pixels, Martin spent the majority of the year as a three-dimensional, independent touring artist, performing his nine one-person shows and five two-person plays at festivals and theaters in Canada, Australia, the UK, and the US.
Since we were all relegated to our couches, he’s been broadcasting a brand new show every five or six weeks about the personal effects of social distancing. It’s funny. Pointed. Often ridiculous. Always heartfelt. Entitled RIGHT NOW, the show is performed live on his Facebook homepage. Past episodes are up on www.MartinDockery.com. It’s all surreal, this. But what isn’t?
